Trauma and Mental Health - April 2020
During April 2020 we will be running some of our most popular training courses as a series of 4 online seminars. Each seminar will run for two hours every Thursday (with a short break during Easter week).
These courses are accessible to everyone, whether you’re a survivor, a supporter, a professional, or currently self-isolating and looking to use the time to learn something new. Each week we’ll be hosting training on a different topic, with Q&A time at the end of each seminar. You can book any of the seminars individually, or sign up for all four.
2nd April – Trauma.101
All the essential things you need to know about trauma and it’s impact. Topics covered by this seminar include:
types of trauma – what trauma does to the brain – the long term impact of trauma – PTSD
9th April – Managing Anxiety
How to understand and cope with trauma-related anxiety. Topics covered by this seminar include:
what happens when survivors are triggered – tools for grounding – building resilience to stress
23rd April – Healthy Boundaries
Everyone talks about the need for good boundaries, but what does that actually mean? Topics covered by this seminar include:
why boundaries are important – 4 ways to have unhealthy boundaries – what boundaries do you need? – how to draw new boundaries
30th April – Trauma & Mindfulness
The essential skills for using mindfulness to help cope with trauma. Topics covered by this seminar include:
the benefits of mindfulness – mindfulness and the traumatised body and mind – basic mindfulness techniques – establishing a regular practice
Each 2 hour course will be hosted via Zoom from 7:30pm-9:30pm (UK time) and is open to attendees from across the globe.
