
Trauma and Mental Health - New Courses in April & May 2020
We are extending our popular series of evening seminars on various aspects of trauma and mental health through the first half of May.
These courses are accessible to everyone, whether you’re a survivor, a supporter, a professional, or currently self-isolating and looking to use the time to learn something new. Each week we’ll be hosting training on a different topic, with Q&A time at the end of each seminar. Tickets can be booked online via Eventbrite.
30th April – Trauma & Mindfulness
The essential skills for using mindfulness to help cope with trauma. Topics covered by this seminar include:
the benefits of mindfulness – mindfulness and the traumatised body and mind – basic mindfulness techniques – establishing a regular practice
7th May - Trauma & Sleep
Survivors of trauma often experience difficulties with their sleep patterns. Topics covered by this seminar include:
trauma and disrupted sleep – different types of sleep difficulty – trauma and dreams – practical tools for healthy sleep
14th May - Trauma & Attachment
How do our relationships during childhood impact our mental health and relationships as adults? How do these bonds affect our recovery? Topics covered by this seminar include:
attachment theory – attachment and childhood trauma – adult attachment styles – corrective attachment experiences and recovery
Each 2 hour course will be hosted via Zoom from 7:30pm-9:30pm (UK time) and is open to attendees from across the globe.

Working with Trauma Survivors - New Courses in May & June 2020
A series of courses aimed at professionals and others working with survivors of abuse and other forms of trauma.
These courses run on Saturday mornings, and all will include in-depth teaching as well as small group discussions and Q&A time.

Trauma & Transference - 23rd May 2020
Survivors of trauma often experience complex interpersonal dynamics with helping professionals. When these dynamics are not well understood, they can hamper the process of recovery and healing. Topics covered in this course include:
understanding transference – power dynamics and trauma – pitfalls in the therapeutic relationship – how transference can be beneficial

Working With Complex Trauma - June 6th, 13th, 20th and 27th
An online 4-part course for those working with survivors of trauma and abuse. This course will cover:
complex trauma and the link with childhood abuse – the spectrum of dissociation – attachment and dissociation – conceptualising the traumatised self – role theory and the neurobiology of trauma – a framework for recovery
