Description

When then world feels hopeless, how do we help friends, family, or loved ones who are crisis?
Before lockdown, 1 in 4 of people struggled with their mental health, but now the numbers are even higher. Mental health services have waiting lists of 6-12 months on average, some as much as 2 years, and hospitals are seeing increased admissions for self harm, overdoses, and suicide.

People are struggling, and many of us have friends and family who are at breaking point or struggling in silence.

This is a half-day course run by mental health charity Clinical Director, Giles Lascelle, who has over 30yrs experience working in mental health, charities, rehabs, and social services.
This is a course for anyone wanting to understand what their loved ones are going through and how to support them.
We’ll be covering topics including: common mental health problems (such as anxiety, depression, ptsd), understanding negative coping strategies (such as self harm and addiction), boundaries, listening well, and what to do when attempts to reach out aren’t getting through.

This is the audio recording and slides from our online mental health training course on 24th April 2021
(PLEASE NOTE: Recordings do not include the content of the small discussion groups held across this course which make up 15-20mins of the session in total).

Once you have completed the your order you can download the files which contain the link to join the Zoom recording and to the slides.
